I’ve been visiting Cambria since 2012, and now that I live just 30 minutes away, it’s become my go-to spot for a quick bite, a little shopping, or satisfying a craving at one of its many great restaurants.
Cambria might be a small coastal town, but its food scene is far from ordinary. From indulging in a memorable meal at one of the best Cambria restaurants to enjoying a casual bite at a cozy café, this charming destination serves up something for every palate.

Whether you’re craving a hearty meal after exploring Moonstone Beach or a sweet treat to pair with your afternoon coffee, Cambria restaurants deliver both flavor and ambiance in spades.

In this guide, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite spots, as well as a few that are still on my must-try list. Each offers something unique—be it blue corn waffles at a gluten-free cafe, the comforting charm of flower pot bread, or pies so good they’ve become local legends.

If you’re planning your visit, why not make the most of your time here? After indulging in some of the town’s best culinary offerings, explore everything this charming destination has to offer. Let’s dive into the culinary delights that make Cambria a food lover’s paradise!
A Culinary Tour of the Best Cambria Restaurants
1. Hidden Kitchen

Discovering the Hidden Kitchen feels like stumbling upon a true gem. This 100% gluten-free cafe is celebrated for its blue corn waffles and superfood smoothies, and they absolutely live up to the buzz.

I tried the savory San Luis Sunrise Waffle, and the hearty, cornbread-like blue corn base paired beautifully with its fresh, tangy toppings. Their smoothies, like the Oceano Orange, are thick, massive, and incredibly satisfying—a perfect option to share if a full smoothie feels like a meal.
The Hidden Kitchen’s commitment to “slow food” means every dish is freshly made with organic ingredients, so expect wait times of 10-35 minutes.

For first-timers, splitting a waffle and smoothie is a great way to sample the best of both. Don’t miss out on seasonal specials like the Jalapeño Popper Waffle—they’re always a fun twist! Arrive Early since this spot gets busy, especially on weekends.

The Hidden Kitchen has two locations, each with its own unique vibe and hours. The Cambria location is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM, offering a cozy, all-outdoor cafe experience.
For a larger setup with ocean views, head to the Cayucos location, open seven days a week from 9 AM to 3 PM. Both spots deliver the same delicious menu with a side of coastal charm!

2. Robin’s
Robin’s restaurant in Cambria is the kind of place you can’t visit the town without experiencing—it’s easily one of my favorites. Nestled in a charming adobe house on Burton Drive, Robin’s blends global culinary inspiration with local, farm-fresh ingredients. The setting itself is magical, with a cozy garden patio adorned with twinkling lights and lush greenery, making it perfect for an intimate dinner or a casual meal with friends.

Their menu is as diverse as it is delightful, offering dishes like the Grass-Fed Beef Burger, the flavorful North Indian Lamb Burrito, and my personal favorite, the Short Rib Bulgogi Rice Bowl, which pairs beautifully with a glass of Halter Ranch Cabernet from Paso Robles.

The attention to detail in every dish reflects the restaurant’s roots, starting as a small health food cafe by founders Robin and Shanny Covey before blossoming into the iconic dining spot it is today. If you’re planning a trip, make sure this gem is on your list—you won’t regret it!
3. Brydge Restaurant
Brydge restaurant is a relatively new addition to Cambria restaurants scene, but it has quickly established itself as a must-visit spot for food enthusiasts. Tucked away just off the main street, Brydge combines a charming historic setting with a fresh, innovative menu that highlights the best of the Central Coast’s organic and micro-seasonal produce. This tapas-style restaurant offers dishes that are as thoughtful as they are delicious.

What I love most about Brydge is the constantly rotating menu—every visit feels like a new adventure. Their small plates, like the Roasted Beets with chevre and hazelnuts or the Giusto Heirloom Polenta, are perfect for sharing, while heartier dishes like the Pastrami Reubenish or Grilled Cheese offer comfort with a creative twist. Almost everything can be made gluten- or dairy-free, making it a welcoming spot for diners with dietary preferences.

The garden patio, paired with friendly, accommodating service, makes Brydge not just a meal but an experience. Reservations are recommended, and while the restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it’s well worth planning your visit around their schedule. Whether you’re a local or passing through Cambria, Brydge delivers a dining experience that truly stands out.
4. The Sow’s Ear

The Sow’s Ear is my go-to spot for a romantic evening in Cambria, especially after visiting the magical Cambria Christmas Market. Known as one of the coziest Cambria restaurants, it offers a warm atmosphere with crackling fireplaces and charmingly intimate dining rooms.

The highlight of every meal is their signature flower pot bread, freshly baked and served warm—a delightful tradition that makes this spot a standout among Cambria restaurants and keeps me coming back.

The menu is a thoughtful mix of hearty and refined dishes. My favorites include the Braised Short Rib, melt-in-your-mouth New Zealand Rack of Lamb, and the indulgent Fried Brie Cheeseappetizer. Pair any of these with a glass of Opolo Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles for a truly memorable experience. The service is attentive, and while tables are close together, it adds to the warm, lively atmosphere.

Whether you’re a local or visiting Cambria, The Sow’s Ear is an absolute must for an unforgettable night out. It’s a place where excellent food, charming ambiance, and a touch of tradition come together beautifully.
5. Madeline’s
Tucked away in Cambria’s West Village, Madeline’s offers an intimate dining experience with a touch of French elegance.

The menu is packed with flavorful options, like a rich Louisiana seafood gumbo featuring assorted seafood and sausage over rice, or a perfectly pan-seared filet mignon served with fresh seasonal vegetables. Don’t miss the delectable Salade Niçoise for a lighter yet satisfying choice. Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes are thoughtfully included, so there’s something for everyone.

Save room for dessert—you won’t want to miss indulgent treats like the chocolate truffle mousse cake or a delicate fresh fruit tart.
The extensive wine list showcases local gems, including Madeline’s own proprietary label, crafted in Paso Robles. Right next door, Madeline’s wine shop invites you to sample some of California’s best wines. Best part, you can have a wine tasting with your lunch or dinner.

For a coastal twist, head to Madeline’s on Moonstone Beach, located at the Cambria Shores Inn.

Sip boutique wines from Madeline’s Cellar, handcrafted by acclaimed Central Coast winemaker Jeff Branco, while taking in stunning ocean views. It’s the perfect pairing of fine wine and seaside charm.
6. Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill
Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill is a must-visit for anyone craving fresh seafood and breathtaking ocean views. Nestled along the scenic Moonstone Beach Drive, this bustling spot is perfect for enjoying local wines or their signature “Moonstone Margarita” while soaking up a spectacular sunset.
The creamy clam chowder is a standout favorite of mine, paired perfectly with the sound of waves crashing just steps away. Their seafood pasta, brimming with shrimp, scallops, and fresh herbs, is another dish not to miss.

For those who prefer something other than seafood, hearty burgers and flavorful salads are also on the menu. While the atmosphere is often lively and touristy, it’s a great choice for laid-back lunches after exploring the nearby boardwalk. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak times.
Please Note: Parking can get competitive, so consider walking if you’re staying nearby.
7. Sea Chest Oyster Bar
The Sea Chest Oyster Bar has been on my bucket list for a while, and it’s easy to see why it’s a must-visit in Cambria. Perched right above Moonstone Beach, this charming, Nantucket-style seafood spot has been serving fresh catches since 1975.

Known for its exhibition-style oyster bar and a menu packed with classics like clam chowder, calamari steak, and Alaskan halibut, it’s a go-to for seafood lovers. Signature dishes like Gina’s Cioppino—a hearty seafood stew—get rave reviews from diners.

Be prepared for a wait, as the Sea Chest operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The line often starts early, with locals and visitors alike bringing chairs and wine to enjoy the sunset while they wait. It’s all part of the experience.

The Sea Chest promises not just great seafood, but also a slice of Cambria’s coastal charm. Whether you’re here for the oysters or simply soaking in the ambiance, it’s a place to savor—and I can’t wait to cross it off my list!
Insider tip: The restaurant is cash-only, but there’s an ATM on-site to make things easier. They don’t take reservations, offer takeout, or allow pets, so plan accordingly for a cozy, sit-down dining experience.
8. Linn’s of Cambria
Linn’s restaurant is one of Cambria’s iconic dining spots, and while I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, it’s at the top of my list—especially for their famous olallieberry pie. Known for its comfort food with a creative twist, Linn’s has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its humble beginnings as a fruit stand in 1989.

Their menu showcases the versatility of the olallieberry, from syrup drizzled over pancakes to apple-olallieberry slaw on sandwiches and even olallieberry vinaigrette for salads.

Breakfast highlights include honey-wheat pancakes and omelets, while lunch and dinner feature dishes like tri-tip sandwiches, chicken pot pie, and perfectly seared ribeye steaks.
The real star, however, is dessert—no visit is complete without a slice of their signature olallieberry pie, or if you’re feeling adventurous, try the chocolate raspberry cake or cherry pie à la mode.

For those on the go, Linn’s also has a takeout counter with coffee, pastries, and pies to enjoy later.

While some reviews mention slower service during busy times, the warm ambiance and fresh, flavorful dishes make Linn’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Cambria. I can’t wait to stop by and finally dig into that olallieberry pie!

9. J.J.’s Pizza
If you’re craving a casual, comforting meal, J.J.’s Pizza in Cambria’s East Village is a solid choice. Known for its Italian-American-style pizzas with soft, chewy crusts, this spot offers a relaxed vibe perfect for families, couples, or anyone looking for an easy dining option. Whether you’re ordering the popular “Mexican” pizza, loaded with taco-inspired toppings, or customizing your own creation, there’s something for everyone. Pair your pie with crispy chicken wings or a fresh antipasto salad for the ultimate feast.

On our visits, we’ve opted for delivery straight to our hotel on Moonstone Beach, and it’s been a hit every time. The pizzas arrive hot and fresh, typically within 30 minutes, and the breaded zucchini is a standout side that’s hard to resist. Service is consistently friendly and efficient, which makes the experience even better. Just don’t forget to ask for plates and napkins if you’re eating on the go—lesson learned!
For those dining in, the atmosphere is laid-back, and the staff makes you feel like a local with their warm, welcoming attitude. If pizza isn’t your thing, the Cambrian sandwich and crispy fries are crowd-pleasers worth trying. JJs Pizza strikes that perfect balance of quality, affordability, and small-town charm that keeps us coming back.
10. The Spot
The Spot in Cambria has quickly earned a reputation as a go-to eatery for fresh, healthy meals with a creative twist. While I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, this place is high on my list for its diverse menu and glowing reviews.

Locals and visitors rave about their sweet and savory crepes, like the mushroom and spinach crepe, which sounds like a perfect balance of indulgence and nutrition.

Their panini sandwiches, especially the Ferrari with roast chicken and pesto, and the vegetarian Cambria loaded with hummus and avocado, are also crowd favorites.
What really stands out are their fresh juices, smoothies, and açaí bowls, which make for a refreshing pick-me-up, especially after exploring Cambria’s scenic spots.
The Piña Kaleada smoothie and heartbeet juice come highly recommended. With its cozy atmosphere, welcoming patio seating, and friendly service, The Spot seems like an ideal place to enjoy a laid-back breakfast or lunch. I can’t wait to check it out on my next trip!
11. Main Street Grill
Main Street Grill in Cambria is a sister location to the popular Firestone Grill in San Luis Obispo, which I’ve visited a few times and always enjoyed. While I haven’t yet dined at the Cambria spot, it’s definitely on my list for its reputation as a casual, family-friendly barbecue joint.
At their San Luis Obispo location, my go-to is the Tri-Tip Sandwich, packed with tender slices of smoky meat and a generous drizzle of their barbecue sauce. For something lighter, the Southwestern Salad with its bold flavors and fresh ingredients always hits the spot.

From what I’ve heard, the Cambria location offers a similar menu, with hearty portions and quick service that’s perfect after a day exploring the coast. Favorites include the Tri-Tip Sandwich (of course), seasoned fries, and their massive onion rings. They also serve local craft beers, which pair perfectly with the barbecue offerings, and the sports bar vibe makes it a fun place to unwind.
Whether you’re stopping in for lunch or grabbing takeout for a picnic by the beach, Main Street Grill seems to balance great flavor with fair prices—a refreshing find in this often pricey area. Based on my experiences at their San Luis Obispo location, I’m looking forward to seeing how Cambria’s version measures up!
12. The French Corner Bakery
The French Corner Bakery in Cambria is one of my favorite spots to satisfy a sweet tooth or grab a quick coffee. I’ve been here countless times and each visit feels like a treat.

Their flaky croissants and buttery Danish pastries are a must-try, but it’s their delicious pies that truly stand out. Whether it’s a classic apple pie or a rich berry-filled creation, every bite tastes like it’s made with love and attention to detail.

Beyond the sweets, their savory options are just as enticing. Their fresh bread selection, from tangy sourdough to hearty multigrain, is perfect for taking home or pairing with your meal. With friendly service and a cozy atmosphere, it’s easy to see why this bakery is such a local favorite.

Whether you’re stopping by for a post-lunch dessert, a mid-morning coffee, or simply because you deserve something delicious, the French Corner Bakery is worth a visit. Every time I leave, I’m already planning what to try on my next trip.
Bonus Restaurant – Boni’s Tacos
I’ve seen Boni’s Tacos truck parked downtown for a while now, but it wasn’t until recently that I finally gave it a try. Honestly, I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. This little taco truck serves up some of the best street tacos I’ve ever had, hands down.

If you’re in Cambria from Friday to Monday, look for the Boni’s Tacos truck next to Pacific Premier Bank. This spot is the original location, and their tacos al pastor are legendary. The al pastor is cooked on a traditional vertical rotisserie, and watching it spin while your tacos are prepared makes the experience even better.
The food here is simple, authentic, and downright delicious. The breakfast burritos come in three sizes, so you can choose depending on your appetite, and the fresh salsas are fantastic. But the star of the show for me? Those al pastor tacos. Perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor.
Just make sure to come hungry—and maybe don’t wait as long as I did to give it a try!
